BY PURCHASING FROM US, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By placing a deposit or completing payment, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms and conditions. This forms a legally binding agreement between the buyer and Crestie Shack.
Crestie Shack operates in accordance with UK animal welfare and local authority licensing regulations.
1. Health & Welfare Prior to Sale
- All geckos leave us feeding independently and in good visible health.
- Animals are health-checked and monitored prior to sale.
- Feeding history, weight, and lineage (where applicable) are available upon request.
- A care sheet can be provided prior to purchase or downloaded here.
- Ownership transfers only once full cleared payment has been received.
2. 7-Day Health Guarantee
Each gecko comes with a 7-day limited health guarantee from the date of collection or confirmed delivery.
In the unlikely event of a concern:
- The buyer must notify us within the 7-day period.
- Full photographic/video evidence is required.
- Proof of correct husbandry must be provided (enclosure setup, temperatures, humidity,supplementation, feeding).
- Failure to provide adequate evidence will void the guarantee.
- Crestie Shack is not responsible for veterinary costs unless agreed in writing prior to treatment.
- After 7 days, full responsibility for the animal transfers to the buyer and no refunds or compensation will be provided.
- Maximum liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid.
3. Husbandry Responsibility
It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure:
- Correct enclosure size and setup
- Appropriate temperature and humidity levels
- Correct lighting and supplementation
- Proper feeding schedule
- Suitable quarantine procedures when introducing to an existing collection
- Crestie Shack cannot be held liable for illness, injury, death, or health issues resulting from improper husbandry after the animal has left our care.
4. Sexing & Breeding Disclaimer
- Geckos under 25g are not guaranteed sexed.
- We check for pores to the best of our ability, but no guarantees are made.
- No refunds or compensation will be given if a gecko proves to be the opposite sex.
- Unless explicitly stated in writing, no gecko is guaranteed for breeding quality, fertility, adult size, structure, colour development, or future breeding outcomes.
5. Tail Drops
We are not liable for tail drops occurring after a deposit has been placed.
If a gecko drops its tail after a deposit and the buyer chooses not to proceed, the deposit remains strictly non-refundable.
6. Colour & Development
Colours and pattern appearance may vary due to:
- Lighting
- Firing up/down
- Device screens
- Natural growth and development
Future appearance cannot be guaranteed.
7. Payments
- A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to hold any gecko.
- Full payment must be received before collection or courier booking.
- Payment plans (on geckos over £100) may be available by agreement.
- If a payment is missed, the buyer must make contact within 7 days or the sale will be forfeited andmonies paid will not be refunded.
- Couriers must be booked within 2 weeks of full payment. After this period, additionalhousing/feeding fees may apply.
- Deposits are non-refundable unless Crestie Shack cancels the sale.
- Crestie Shack reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale at any time if we believe the animal will not receive appropriate care. In this instance, all monies paid will be refunded in full.
8. Collection & Courier
- Collection is welcome from Colchester, Essex (public location).
- UK reptile courier can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
- We reserve the right to delay shipping due to unsafe weather conditions (extreme heat or cold).
- Risk transfers to the buyer upon handover to the courier.
- Live arrival guarantee applies only if:
- The gecko is delivered and received on the first delivery attempt.
- Someone is present to accept the delivery.
- Clear, continuous unboxing video is provided.
- Any DOA claim is reported within 1 hour of delivery.
- Failure to meet these conditions voids any claim.
- Any courier disputes must be handled directly by the buyer.
- Crestie Shack is not liable for courier delays.
9. Rehoming Policy
If at any time the buyer is unable to keep the gecko, Crestie Shack must be contacted first before resale, surrender, or rehoming. We reserve the right of first refusal.
Force Majeure
Crestie Shack shall not be liable for delays or failure to fulfil obligations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to extreme weather, transport disruption, illness, or other unforeseen events.
